Day 1: Arrival to Casablanca
Day 1: Arrival to Casablanca

Welcome to Morocco! The driver will pick you up at Med V airport in Casablanca and escort you to your hotel. He'll provide an overview of your trip upon arrival. You will begin your visit in Casablanca by exploring the city centre. You will begin at the Hassan II Mosque, a beautiful example of Moroccan Moorish architecture. Following a walk along the seaside, we will also visit Casablanca's main square and its Sacred Coeur Cathedral, which combines Moroccan and French design elements. The next day, we'll visit Casablanca's main square and cathedral.

Day 2: Casablanca – El Jadida - Essaouira

After breakfast, we will head to El Jadida, a coastal city strongly influenced by the Portuguese, where we will visit its citadel, walls, impressive tank, and other defensive structures dating from the 18th century. The Portuguese left in the 18th century, leaving behind Old Portuguese mansions with pilasters and wrought iron balconies, mosques and churches.We drive to Oualidia, a coastal town famous for its oyster dishes, for lunch. We then travel to Safi, a city renowned for its Portuguese architecture and one of the kingdom's biggest ports. Safi's residents and artisans are renowned for their pottery and ceramics as a result of their expertise. Arrive to Essaouira for the overnight with dinner in a Riad or hotel.

You'll visit the famous woodworking town of Essaouira today, as well as its silver souk art galleries and islands. It's no surprise that Essaouira is often referred to as the 'Jewel of the Atlantic'. This place has earned such a following that Orson Welles filmed Othello here in 1949. You'll visit the Skala Fortress and the port of Essaouira. People come to this resort and remain because it's a melting pot of locals and foreigners who came and stayed have created a laid back, atmospheric and intriguing resort. Windsurfers love Essaouira, clean waters and it’s the Atlantic Trade winds that have ensured the large-scale operators stay out and the character stays in. Spend the overnight with breakfast at the Riad or hotel.

Day 4: Essaouira - Agadir - Taroudant

After breakfast at the hotel, we will leave the coastal city Essaouira and travel to Taroudant, a walled city comparable to Marrakech, located 90 miles from Agadir. The city was once the capital of Morocco during the Saadian era. Lunch will be served in Agadir before we continue on to Taroudant. We will have lunch before we continue our journey to Taroudant. Souks and crafts are prominent in the city, which was the capital for a short period of time. You may purchase traditional items such as rugs, jewellery, spices, metals, pottery, and clothing in the Arab souk and the Berber souk. Spend the night at the hotel or riad.

Day 5: Taroudant - Taliouine - Ait Benhadou - Ouarzazate - Skoura

Today we will travel from Taroudant to the Anti Atlas Mountains in the south. We will stop in Taliouine, the capital of saffron, to see saffron production in a local cooperative. Afterwards, we will continue to Ait Benhdaou Kasbah, one of the most spectacular fortresses in southern Morocco, as well as a UNESCO world heritage site. After supper and visiting the Kasbah of Ait Benhdaou, we will depart for Ouarzazate, a city where many films have been shot. We will stay overnight in Skoura and dine in a Kasbah hotel.

Day 6: Skoura - Rose Valley - Todra gorges - Erfoud - Merzouga Desert

After breakfast, you will drive through the Rose valley to reach Todra Gorges where many of rock climbers come to enjoy their preferred sport. Later we continue our journey, following the ancient Bedouin trading routes parallel with the Middle Atlas, passing a series of the fortified villages with outstanding architecture. The route to Erfoud is one of the most pleasing of all the Southern routes. The town is in a dry red built of desert and was built by the French as a central administration town. It is known for its rich black fossils marble. The stone is sculpted to bring the fossils into relief on everything from ashtrays to washbasins and more. We head down to the spectacular Merzouga dunes where sand dunes signify the start of the mighty Sahara Desert. We leave our vehicle and take a camel ride into the desert to a Berber camp. To seal this as an experience of a life time, why not surf the Sahara Desert and try sand Dunes Boarding! After dinner we gather round the fire and enjoy the desert night perhaps with traditional Berber drums.

Day 7: Merzouga Desert - Draa Valley - Ouarzazate

The morning after breakfast at camp, you will ride camel to the meeting point with your driver. You will then journey to the fossil workshops, where you will begin your day. After lunch in Rissani village, you will travel south to the magnificent Draa valley, home to an abundance of palms and historic villages. We will stay in Alnif for dinner. After dinner in a Riad or hotel in Ouarzazate, we will set out on a journey to Timbuktu, a city that once hosted trading caravans on a lengthy journey. We will spend the night in Ouarzazate after dinner at a Riad or hotel.

Day 8: Ouarzazate - Ait Benhdaou - Atlas Mountains - Imlil village

After breakfast, we will tour the world-renowned movie studios in Ouarzazate, Morocco, which has magnificent landscapes and terrains. You may wish to see where films like The Mummy and Gladiator were shot. Then we will cross the high Atlas Mountains with panoramic views and attractive Berber villages to reach Imlil, where you will be welcomed by local Berbers. Dinner will be served in a guesthouse for the evening.

You will hike to Tamatert village (1810 m) via fields of wheat and orchards of walnuts, apples, and cherries from Tizi n'Tamatert (2272 m). After walking down the path through pine and juniper woods, you'll see the Imlil and Imenane Valleys across the Imlil and Imenane Valleys and their many terraced Berber villages nestled on the slopes as you hike up to the Tizi (2928 m). As well as Adrar n'Oukaimeden (3268 m), a mountain almost as tall as the Rocky Mountains, you will see the Tizi n'Eddi (2928 m) and Jbel Angour (3616 m), two high peaks to the south. A picnic will be held at Amghedoul, which is surrounded by the Toubkal Massif range after you finish the hike down the Tamatert Valley slopes. The Douar Samra will be your next stop, starting with the oldest Berber village in the region, Tacheddirt, and finishing with Ouaneskra and the other side of the valley, passing through Tamegguist and Tinghourine villages as well as Jbel Bou Iguenouane (3882m), Tizi n'Likemt (3615m), Aksoual (3842m), and Azrou n'Tamadot (3664m) until you return to Imlil for your evening meal at the guesthouse.

Day 10: Imlil - Marrakech

Today, you're free to leave at any time of your choosing. You may choose to visit Asni Ouirgane and walk through the shade of nut trees, crossing mountain streams, and visiting Richard Branson's Kasbah Tamadot. On your return to Marrakech, you will see mud-brick adobe houses lined up along the riverbanks or scattered throughout the mountainsides, shaded by palm trees. The river gives way to canyons and gorges as well as the local Berber granary that towers over the landscape as a guardian of the valley's silence. The road follows its course among olive or orange orchards and golf courses to reach Marrakech for the overnight with dinner in a hotel or Riad.

After breakfast, a local tour guide will escort you through Marrakech to various historical sites, including the spectacular Bahia palace, a 17th-century Saadian tomb, the Ben Youssef Koranic School, and the Koutoubia mosque, which was built in the 12th century. Souks, a great place to purchase souvenirs for your family, friends, or yourself. Majorelle Gardens is a serene area in the new part of Marrakech with exotic plants imported from all over the world. Snake charmers, storytellers, musicians, acrobats, and open-air food sellers can be found in the main square of Djemaa Lefna. You may have time to enjoy a soft drink in one of the cafes, where you can see the square from a panoramic viewpoint.

Transfer to Marrakech International airport for your return flight with plenty of tales of Arabian and Berber days and nights.
